Hello, My name is Daymee Sanchez and I am a sophomore at Florida State University. I am studying Special Education and Visual Disabilities, with the end goal of hopefully becoming a SPED teacher. I enjoy working with students, and assisting those with disabilities, as they too deserve equal access to a safe educational space. 


I have used several different types of technological gadgets/apps in the classroom. One of the fist advancements I saw in educational technology was back in middle school, when we all received tablets to complete our work. I have also used applications such as Microsoft Office for certifications, and Edmodo for classroom assignments in high school. I have begun to use Canvas a lot now, because of school.

I hope I'm able to learn the skills and techniques needed to execute a class using different technological apps and gadgets. How to use them, when to use them, and knowing which ones are most effective are good to know before using in the classroom. I hope to learn how to tailor to different students needs, as there are mixed views about whether technology in the classroom is a good or bad thing. This will help me decide how to use the gadgets, and to what extent.

    Nice to meet you Daymee! We have an entire week dedicated for tech that deals with students with special needs. I am sure you can bring in a lot from you background to this class.

I really enjoyed my experiences with Diigo, it was very useful when annotated and creating notes. I liked that we were able to share with our classmates what we were annotated. It allowed them to go back into the article and see which exact section we were annotating. I didn't like how the website what set up though, it was a bit confusing and seemed very old school. I would use this in my classroom if it was a bit more modernized. So far throughout the semester, I have enjoyed blogging about my assignments and my aspirations in the educational field. I have never blogged in the past so this is my first time doing it for a class. I have enjoyed being able to express myself and my thoughts on educational technology, it is great for those that enjoy reflection. I have learned that a blog doesn't necessarily need to be an assignment, but it can be about other subjects such as math. Daymee Sanchez September 19th, 2019 1. I have used Microsoft Word many times as a student and within the classroom as assigned by my teachers. From newsletters to making a schedule using the tables, or making a document to sign at the bottom, there are many different uses for Microsoft Word. I believe that Word is a very useful application, since many students have stopped taking notes and began using Word for notes. My teachers have printed out activities for us to do in the classroom using the Microsoft Word app. I have found Word very efficient when I'm creating a study guide for an exam. 2. Using information that is not originally stated by you is a very tricky topic and many students forget about plagiarism and copyright issues.
