1. I have used Microsoft Word many times as a student and within the classroom as assigned by my teachers. From newsletters to making a schedule using the tables, or making a document to sign at the bottom, there are many different uses for Microsoft Word. I believe that Word is a very useful application, since many students have stopped taking notes and began using Word for notes. My teachers have printed out activities for us to do in the classroom using the Microsoft Word app. I have found Word very efficient when I'm creating a study guide for an exam.
2. Using information that is not originally stated by you is a very tricky topic and many students forget about plagiarism and copyright issues. In my previous classes, many of my teachers would ask me to always cite my resources using APA style. They have also asked me to create a references page with any outside sources. To avoid any copyright issues in the educational environment, I will use apps such as TurnItIn to detect any plagiarized material. I will also urge my students to cite their sources, as it will be part of the final grade of the assignment.
3. Academic Dishonesty is one of the major downfalls of having technological implementation within our classrooms, but I have some ideas to avoid students from cheating. First, all quizzes my students will take will be in the classroom and supervised by me. Second, I will use a site such as Canvas that requires a test password, in order to even begin the exam. I believe this can reduce cheating and push students to be honest on their tests. Cyberbullying is another huge issue about technology, and that is why I am pushing to have all social media sites blocked off when using school wifi. I believe that being present in the classroom is KEY to being a successful student, and using social media to bully others is a complete distraction.
Intellectual property is an important issue and it is often missing in our education system. Most people seems to only know about the reference list and care about plagiarism, but it is much more than that. Everybody seems to have heard of it but not a lot of classes address the fair use unfortunately.
